| Greg Lane purchased, operated and conducted a lean transformation within his own manufacturing company, which specialized in fast turnaround on high-mix, low-volume parts. Greg used TPS to grow the business and nearly double its sales. He profitably sold the business to concentrate on supporting others in lean implementation.
Greg earned his Masters of Business Administration from the California State University in 1989 and his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin in 1986. He is a faculty member of the Lean Enterprise Institute and an advisor to the Instituto de Lean Management in Spain. While working with Toyota, Greg was one of a handful of candidates selected for a one-year training program conducted by Toyota’s masters. He became certified as a Toyota Production System (TPS) Key Person and continued his work with Toyota by training others in TPS. | |
| | | |
| Since 1992, he has been working on implementing lean around the world, supporting large and small companies alike. In 1998, he began to refocus his lean endeavors on meeting the specific needs of high-mix, low-volume enterprises. Although his work is geared to company wide improvements, Greg and his associates have also worked with individual departments—purchasing, engineering, finance, planning—to improve efficiencies, reduce lead times, and reduce costs. All his clients have experienced significant cost and lead-time savings, many references can be provided upon request. | |
| He has supported lean implementations in over 24 countries and speaks English, German and some Spanish. | |

| Some of our Key Associates: | Chuck Ward began his lean journey in the mid-1980s after joining Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky during the installation and launch of their Georgetown, Kentucky facility. During the first 6 years of his 10 year tenure, he experienced TPS first hand as a supervisor and manager on the factory floor. During his last four years, he was loaned by TMMK to the Toyota Supplier Support Center where he was trained by various Toyota TPS Masters in teaching suppliers how to install and maintain lean processes and systems throughout their oganizations. | | Since leaving Toyota, Chuck has continued to share his experiences as practitioner and teacher of lean manufacturing techniques and skills with his various clients. Though his early experiences in consulting were with high volume, low mix auto suppliers, over the years he has seen a shift in his clientele as interest in lean processes have spread to high mix manufacturers. Today, these manufacturers make up a majority of his current workload. Chuck is comfortable leading plant floor teams as well as office teams in understanding the basic concepts of lean, identifying waste and establishing creative, lean solutions to current issues. He and his family still reside in Georgetown, Kentucky. For more information email info@lowvolumelean.com |
Andrew Bonney earned his Bachlor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Royal NavalEngineering College. Prior to more than 10 years of supporting others with an accomplished track record in change leadership and lean implementation, he worked for 12 years in operations including learning lean while working for Toyota as a shift manager. He learned his lean production from Toyota operations in Japan, and further honed his skills during their start of production in the UK. |
| | Andy's background also includes lead positions in Ford and General Motors before working internationally for McKinsey & Co. in design and execution of operational transformation and performance improvement programs. He holds a diverse background that is key to low volume manufacturers and the service sector instead of only hands on experience with traditional high volume manufacturers and conveyor lines, for example: lead lean implementation at a UK manufacturer of large electrical generators in low volume, medical equipment manufacturer with high variation, supply chain strategy redesign, business process re-engineering program for a multi-media organization, lean procurement in an aerospace program, distribution optimization for a UK retailing group, etc. Naturally quantifiable cost and lead time savings were realized in all these environments. Andy is based in the United Kingdom. For more information email info@lowvolumelean.com |
